OHLA Undergraduate Fieldwork Fellow & Faculty Mentor

Through the generosity of the Great Lakes Colleges Association and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Oral History in the Liberal Arts (OHLA) supports oral history projects that get students out of the classroom and into the community. This call for proposals invites applications from undergraduate students with a faculty mentor interested in inquiry-based learning through oral history.

We are particularly interested in projects that:

  • Are a deeper investigation of themes introduced in disciplinary coursework
  • Demonstrate a willingness to connect to organizations and communities of practice
  • Propose innovative multimedia public facing projects that integrate oral history narratives
  • Include participants who are persons of color or who come from historically underrepresented or marginalized populations, who hold varying levels of experience or education, and who come from different types of institutions and organizations.
