Michelle Fujii, class of 2018 at Antioch College, is studying anthropology and environmental issues with language focuses in Spanish and Japanese. Her oral history project is a product of spending five months in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she conducted research for her senior thesis regarding the history, construction, use, and cultural meaning of urban green spaces, while volunteering for the non-profit organization Un Arbol Para Mi Vereda. This was her first attempt at long-term independent undergraduate research that connected her interests in environmental problems with social justice issues.
