Segment Synopsis: Isabelle talks about her experience in 3rd grade, her favorite subject of writing and her desire to be an engineer.

Partial Transcript: "Yes, because my grandparents are Haitian"

Segment Synopsis: Isabelle tells me that she considers herself Haitian because her grandparents are Haitian.

Partial Transcript: "Yes"

Segment Synopsis: Isabelle gives me a a confused look as to why asked her such a seemingly obvious question.

Partial Transcript: "What do you mean?...Eating Haitian food almost everyday?"

Segment Synopsis: Isabelle talks about food initially and then mentions Haitian culture and language. Isabelle nods her head to affirm but being that these are audio interviews I ask her to verbally state her opinion.

Segment Synopsis: After some reflection, Isabelle shares some thoughts about her pride in being black

Segment Synopsis: This part of the interview was interesting because I had to realize that Isabelle wasn't familiar with the word "admire" and had to change the phrasing of the question. Isabelle says she her Grandma is funny, nice and she really like to cook with her.

Partial Transcript: "They like to tease me in a funny way"; "They watch after me when my grandma is not here"

Segment Synopsis: Isabelle speaks about the Haitian men in her life and the different ways that they support her"

Partial Transcript: "The last day of football and on Thanksgiving they make good food"; "That's two days ago"

Segment Synopsis: Isabelle talks about the delicious food and the how family watches her when she plays with her cousins.

Segment Synopsis: Isabelle definitely felt a little in the hot seat towards the end of the interview but she shared that she didn't feel like being Haitian had changed for her over time.
