Michelle Fujii, class of 2018 at Antioch College, pursued a self-designed major in Interdisciplinary Studies in Ecology, Culture, and Politics with language focuses in Spanish and Japanese. Her oral history project is a product of spending approximately six months in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she conducted research for her senior thesis regarding urban green spaces and the culture of work to increase them, while volunteering for the non-profit organization Un Arbol Para Mi Vereda. This was her first attempt at long-term independent undergraduate research that connected her interests in ecological problems with social justice issues.
